Early, but for a Good reason
Ok I know that I said that my Christmas planning series doesn't start until next month, but there is something I really need to encourage. Spreading out shopping. I know I know, you don't even want to think about it right now...here's the thing, because I have this mentality, not only do I have things I have that I'm watching to go on sale, but I have 2 gifts for Jake already.
I do realize I'm sharing this about a child who will be a little less than two when Christmas rolls around and it's pretty easy for me to spot a paw patrol anything and realize I'm getting a big reaction later, and when he's say 7, he will be getting into specifics. That said, I'm watching for other items for other people too.
This was all brought on by me finding a toy I had been considering for him for a while, and it was like 50% off this evening. I had a pretty awesome shopping day in general today.

Less than a Month
So when I post this blog post, I expect a little backlash. That said, we're less than a month away from my Holiday planning blog series. Seriously good news for me because I just looked at my linen closet, and it is a total wreck. Organizing it is typically part of my series.
What's different this year? Well let's start with the name. Christmas Blog series has been the headline for the last 3 years, year 4 brings a new, more personal title.
Also the rigid schedule. So instead of dictating what YOUR assignment is, I'm going to share what I have done.
The frequency of the posts. This may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are. This is for multiple reasons, but the biggest is, I'm back to work, and things have changed. Not only do I work in retail ('no ugh said), but I'm on the leadership team in my store this year too. Honestly I feel like the quantity of posts is dropping, but the quality will improve. I promise one post a week, but there might be the odd week when there is more.
That's what I'll call my "sneak preview", won't be long now!

Our Saturday Morning outing
Jake and I have a little outing we do on Saturdays. We will get up, go our morning stuff, and then we go to Michael's. Last Summer, I wasn't mentally in the healthiest of places, and when Cale got off work we often went to Michael's. It was air conditioned, I love going there, and Jake had a fondness for the floral section. The floral section is still an area we need to stop, big difference now is he reaches and wants to grab everything.
Michael's tends to be ahead of the retail curve, because let's face it crafters need time to get into their seasonal projects ( this is my mental justification anyway). Fall has been out for about a month, so our last visit, I expected we'd see some Halloween, and sure enough, I was right. However, I didn't expect see Christmas...but guess what. I told this to my mother in-law who said it's too early, as would most. Take a breath, it's just the stuff for wreaths, and ribbons...which again, time is needed so...
As it does every year, this appearance opened my mental floodgates to planning for Christmas, and blog series, which (though the location has moved) is on it's 4th year, and going to be VERY different this year. I'm not being all consumed by planning this year, instead I have been making an effort to be in the moment more. That said, yes the blog will be back, but very different. I'm not going to be as stiff about everything, but yes, I will start in September still, because this is what my budget allows.
But for now, let me enjoy my summer...and look forward to my Fall.
K, luv ya, bye!
