Big Boy Room
There is a pride and some pain when your kid transitions onto something well. This was a milestone weekend for us. Cale and I had procrastinated the project of "Jake's big boy room" for a while, and it reached completion this weekend. A stressor for me from the beginning was, how will he transition? The answer? Seamlessly. His first night he wanted to be tucked in for his bedtime story. I even had to go in and tweak the baby monitor a little. I got a "mommy"? And when I left a little whimper. I don't know if it was because we brought him in and hyped him up for every step of the process, but he loves his big boy room and the only time he seems to be upset ( and it's the odd time) is when we call his old room, the baby's room.
So the big stressor, was non existent. I will blame this on the hormones, but Friday night, his last night in the crib I was a mess. To be fair I was his first night in the crib too. I bawled, became my baby wasn't a baby anymore. I'm starting to tear up typing this honestly. But on Saturday night, his first night in a twin bed, we turned out the light and heard "I wuffoo", I was so proud.
Now, today I watched Marie Kondo and went and emptied everything (except the crib and painting stuff) out of the new baby's room...time for round 2!
K, Luv Ya, Bye !
