Yesterday was our first ultrasound. They dated me 5 days sooner than we thought originally, and the doctor doesn't feel like the girl vs boy odds are 50/50 anymore. She's leaning 60/40 girl. She said to me at the time, "obviously you want a girl". Let me tell you why this is not the case.
I think Cale wants a girl, because he likes the idea of one of each. Me, I legit don't care. One of each would be cool, and on some level maybe it would give me a mother daughter relationship I didn't really get to experience. That said, I freaking love being a mom to a little boy. Jake is goofy, and cuddly and rough, and hilarious. Not to say a little girl can't do this. I have always been one of the guys, and you couldn't tell me something was for boys growing up. Before the days of outraged parents on social media, I was already showing people I could keep up with the boys. I would likely teach my little girl to be the same way ( it's kind of what I know). The thing is, you don't have to sell me on boys. I have one, and it's awesome.
Let the record show, whatever my child turns out to be, they will be loved, and cared for, and welcomed with loving arms into our family.
